Citrea project

The Citrea project is born from Chainway Labs and aims to bring zero-knowledge rollups (ZK-rollup) to Bitcoin. These allow grouping transactions on the layer 2 and protecting them using a cryptographic protocol called ZK-proof to demonstrate that they have occurred on the base blockchain. ZK-rollups make the blockchain more scalable and enable the management of thousands of transactions per second (compared to Bitcoin's limit of 7). This makes everything Citrea is building a project suitable for everything, from DeFi to smart contracts, NFTs, games, and social media.
